Sometimes it’s just enough to look at the map to estimate the size of Russia. However, the figures are even more substantive to talk about this. For example, the distance from Vladivostok to St. Petersburg by roads is over 9,500 km! Sound more than impressive, especially when it comes to LTL transportation, isn’t it?
Recently, in the interests of our customer, we transported 16 pallets of auto filters with a total weight of 5,165 kg along the route from Vladivostok to St. Petersburg. The order was received on November 29 with a specification that the cargo definitely needs to be delivered before the New Year period. Taking into account the significant increase in traffic volumes during pre-holidays period, there was a risk not to deliver the cargo in time. Nevertheless, we have taken up this interesting task.
When we picked up the cargo, it turned out that the packaging of 1 of the 16 pallets was damaged. In order to preserve the cargo, since the packaging did not meet the conditions of safe transportation, we made additional packaging of the container at the consolidation warehouse in Vladivostok. In addition, we insured the cargo and the truck started its route to the warehouse in Moscow.
Upon arrival to Moscow the filters were loaded into another truck to shorten the delivery time and moved to St. Petersburg. The cargo arrived at the destination point on December 27, just before the New Year holidays.
For over the two decades, we have been successfully delivering LTL cargo across Russia and CIS countries, offering customers high-quality logistics service at optimal prices and taking into account their needs and wishes. TRASKO has a professional team of logistics specialists and drivers to provide comprehensive control over the customer’s cargo at all stages of the route.
