Logistics is a creative sphere, especially when it’s necessary to choose the most optimal ways of delivering cargo to the client. This story is about the transportation of 330 tons of rolled steel from Yelabuga (Republic of Tatarstan, Russia) to Shanghai (China). Approximately the third part of this cargo, which is 100 tons, had to be delivered quite urgently. That is why it was decided to choose automobile delivery for this batch. Five 20-ton TRASKO trucks were allocated to transport the cargo to the Chinese border.

TRASKO’s specialists monitored the current situation at border crossings. One truck was sent through Kazakhstan, two units went to the Far East and two more moved to Zabaikalsk. We pre-booked the queue for check-in, so all the trucks spent no more than 3-5 days crossing borders, which is a very good indicator for road transportation to China these days. Upon arrival to China, our agent conducted customer clearance and further delivery of the cargo.

The remaining 230 tons were delivered in a multimodal mode. 11 TRASKO trucks delivered the cargo from the manufacturer's factory to the railway station in Yekaterinburg. At the station, we organized the loading of steel sheets into 20-ton containers, secured the cargo according to a previously developed scheme and sent them to the port of Vladivostok. Then the cargo moved to Shanghai by sea. After the sea journey, the steel sheets were delivered to the customer with no overloading procedure. It helped to reduce the number of additional cargo operations that could affect its integrity.

Due to the well-coordinated work of LTL department specialists engaged in the delivery to China as well as specialists of multimodal department of TRASKO branch in Kazan, we performed transportation, loading and unloading operations as well as additional insurance and import customs clearance in China with payment of all necessary duties and VAT. At the same time, after unloading, we additionally performed prompt cleaning of the container for the recipient. The generally accepted practice is that when the container is not returned in its original condition, the line provided the container has the right to issue a fine to the customer.

TRASKO offers a wide range of tools for solving a variety of customers’ logistics tasks. Contact us and we will choose the most optimal options for successful transportation of your cargo.
