TRASKO is an international logistics company that regularly receives requests from foreign entities without local representation. Working with non-resident customers can present unique challenges, including language barriers—where representatives may not always speak Russian or English—issues with document execution, and payment complications. However, our experience shows that nothing is impossible for TRASKO's dedicated managers!

A notable example of our successful collaboration with a non-resident occurred this spring when a Turkish company approached our Ufa branch to arrange the delivery of fragile cargo from the port of Novorossiysk to Yekaterinburg. This shipment consisted of 253 decorative panels, totaling over 6 tons. Our team was also responsible for organizing customs clearance for this delicate cargo.

The main challenge arose from the fact that all communication was conducted solely with the Turkish side, bypassing the Russian consignee. This created significant complications, particularly during customs clearance, where meticulous attention to detail was needed for numerous documents.

Moreover, the cargo was transported in bulk—without any packaging—adding further difficulties during loading and transit. Nevertheless, the entire Ufa branch collaborated seamlessly to address these issues.

The most pressing challenge was the payment process, which has become especially sensitive this year. Here, TRASKO’s central office stepped in to assist, suggesting that a representative from the Turkish company visit Moscow to settle the transportation fees directly.

Once all challenges were resolved, the final task was to deliver the cargo to Yekaterinburg. Instead of a standard lorry, a low-tonnage vehicle was chosen to accommodate the specific weight and dimensions of the cargo. As a result, 1.5 months after the initial request, the decorative panels arrived safely at their destination.

Despite the numerous difficulties and misunderstandings that arose during the transportation process, the Turkish company acknowledged its own missteps and expressed gratitude to TRASKO's managers and leadership for their professionalism and patience. Today, this non-resident company continues to collaborate with TRASKO, placing orders through the streamlined process we established for delivering its goods to various regions of Russia.
