Do you know the difference between cherries and sweet cherries? No? So we are here to tell that to you! Both cherries and sweet cherries belong to the same genus called Prunus. However, there are much more differences than similarities in these fruits. Let’s start with the visual parameters. Externally, the trees themselves are also different: the sweet cherry tree has light bark and large pointed leaves while the ordinary cherry tree has dark bark and small leaves. These fruits are also different in terms of the size, taste characteristics, look and color. Sweet cherries are larger, and sweeter. The berry can be red, yellow, pink and almost black. The cherry is smaller in size, has a certain degree of acidity in the taste, and its color is red.

Both cherries and sweet cherries are considered quite ancient fruits. Presumably, the history of these fruits begins in X or XI century. It is believed that cherry appeared in Russia in the lifetime of Yuri Dolgorukiy, when luxurious cherry orchards appeared in Moscow. Later, cherry appeared in the Vladimir region, Nizhny Novgorod and other cities of Russia.

We have interesting delivery case related with sweet cherry. Recently, we transported 21,600 kg of sweet fruit from Uzbekistan to Russia. The delivery was carried by TRASKO department of cargo transportation to Russia and the CIS located in the Voronezh region. Of course, such product as sweet cherry is perishable and special requirements are imposed on this cargo during transportation. TRASKO truck with a refrigerated semi-trailer was allocated to carry out transportation. It was important for us to arrive in Fergana (Uzbekistan) during harvesting. We provided the truck to the customer in May 2022 in accordance with the agreements and loaded 3,800 boxes of sweet fruit into it. Each pallet of cargo included three tiers of boxes. It is absolutely impossible to stack such cargo. Moreover, transportation should be extremely careful not to bruise the cherries. Carefully loaded, our truck began its journey to Yekaterinburg.

The strict compliance with the temperature regime is extremely important point in the transportation of such products. The refrigerator should be strictly from +2C to + 4C. In such conditions the cherries retain their commercial and taste qualities. To ensure constant temperature monitoring, a special printer was installed in the truck. It allows to monitor the compliance of temperature indicators with the required ones. The delivery of sweet cherries requires relevant documents, a phytosanitary certificate, as well as the certificate of origin.

We had all the necessary documentation. The perishable products have an advantage when passing through the borders. As a result, we have covered a distance of 2,700 km in just 5 days and successfully delivered the cargo to the destination point in Yekaterinburg.

Here in TRASKO we professionally deliver a variety of goods around the world. In 2022, the company began to work actively on the domestic, Asian, Middle Eastern and CIS markets. We are glad to offer our extensive logistics expertise to effectively solve your cargo transportation needs.
