Project

Every delivery is a certain challenge that allows us to stay at the forefront of the logistics process and offer customers advanced options in the field of logistics. Today’s story is an example of high-quality work and a creative approach to the implementation of the project. And how could it be otherwise when the cargo is made for storing milk, which is one of the most beloved products for people!

A cooling tank is a specialized reservoir that allows maintaining a set temperature of the dairy products stored inside. We have received a request to transport two large milk tanks of 18,000 liters and two milk tanks of 21,000 liters together with a set of cooling equipment from Belgium to Russia.

Initially, it was assumed that the tanks of smaller capacity would also be oversized, but we were able to arrange the cargo in two standard trucks. Due to this, we were able to save up to 15% of the freight cost to the customer.

Transportation of two cooling tanks of 21,000 liters required a semi-trailer truck with a lowboy hitch. The cooling equipment was placed in a separate truck. By distributing the loads this way, we got rid of the necessity for all the trucks to cross the border at the same time.

The journey of the first two trucks coincided with the introduction of a new batch of EU sanctions against the Russian Federation. The trucks with standard cargo successfully crossed the borders without any difficulties, while the delivery of the oversized cargo required a permit for transportation across the European Union and Russia was required. Due to the coordinated work, the EU permit was promptly obtained, and the second batch of two trucks arrived in Riga.

Upon arrival of the cargo in the Baltics, we obtained a permission for transportation of oversized cargo across Russia. For more optimal transportation across the territory of our country, the oversized items were placed onboard of one low-frame platform and the cargo continued its way to the destination from Riga to the Nizhny Novgorod region. Overall, the cargo covered approximately 3025 km and was delivered to the customer four days earlier than it was planned.
