We love all of our transportation projects and willingly talk about them. Recently, we carried out transportation of two exclusive handmade countertops with spare parts from St. Petersburg to Omsk. These countertops are made of the wood poured with a colored glassy substance (mainly epoxy resin) into the desired shape, and then polished to achieve the appropriate shine.
Taking into account the weight and dimensions of the countertops (the length of 4.4 m; the width of 1.2 m and the weight 600 kg), as well as their cost of over than a million rubles per one, it was decided to deliver the cargo by a truck with additional fastening straps in order to secure the cargo. Transportation was supervised by the department of LTL transportation throughout Russia and the CIS.
The additional packaging was made at customer’s request right before the departure in order to ensure the additional safety of the cargo. The soft cases were made of carton and bubble wrap with a foam layer put between the packaging elements. The cases were wrapped with stretch film. The packaging was made by an on-site team of packers immediately before shipment, at the place of loading of the goods.
Due to the well-coordinated work of TRASKO employees, the cargo covered a distance of about 3,400 km in 6 days and was successfully delivered to the customer in accordance with the agreed terms. In addition to transportation, TRASKO also carried out insurance of the cargo.
