Project

A metal sheet is quite ordinary cargo. However, the width of 2 meters, the length of 6 meters, and the whole height of sheets of 22 cm as well as overall weight of 20,000 kg brings a few additional nuances. For example, a standard 20-foot container could not accommodate this cargo. Thus we decided to use a 40-foot container. The cargo had to be delivered from Liaocheng (China) to Yaroslavl (Russia). The year came to the end and there were delays in the ports of the Far East as well as longtime waiting for ships unloading, and loading onto railway transport.

Taking into account the current situation, we decided to carry out direct rail transportation to the station in Moscow suburban with subsequent delivery by a truck to Yaroslavl. However, when delivering by rail, there are rules that the weight of the cargo exceeds 1,500 kg need to be additionally reinforced. Every metal sheet exceeded this parameter.

The cargo was planned to be transported EXW, which requires the customer or the customer’s representative to be responsible for packing into the container. Since the sender could not confirm the possibility to assist the loading process, we decided to put the cargo onboard of opened platform and load metal sheets into the container at contractor’s warehouse, where the special attachments were made. First container was sent to Jining railway station (Shandong), where the container had to receive inspection approval and put into transportation mode. However, the station refused to accept the cargo due to its heavy weight. Then we sent the container to Xi'an railway station. Unfortunately, they also refused to accept the cargo because of its weight. After that the container was delivered to Shenyang railway station. The cargo was approved for transportation. Despite all the difficulties, all delivery was carried out at the agreed rates with the customer. In addition to direct transportation, we carried out insurance and customs clearance of the cargo.

The cargo was transported by rail from Zabaikalsk (Russia) to Vorsino station (Kaluga region, Russia). The cargo processed customs clearance and was sent to Yaroslavl by a truck. Then the customer carried the unloading process. The overall distance covered was about 9,730 km.
