We regularly transported goods from France to Russia with our long-term partner. However, geopolitical changes inevitably affect logistics pricing. For example, the rates for the road transport from Europe have doubled compared to the previous year.

Taking into account the aspirations of the client who decided to optimize his costs, we developed and offered him an exclusive solution called ‘three trucks plus a railway carrier’ from France to Russia. The pros of this way of transportation is that one railway carrier includes a cargo volume equal to the cargo in three tent semi-trailers, meanwhile railway transportation is one of the most inexpensive types of delivery.

The customer appreciated our offer and agreed. In addition, we organized customs clearance of his goods on the territory of the Russian Federation. An integrated approach and consideration of interests helped us to keep the customer and conduct the delivery his cargo at the optimal price.

We have received an order for the transportation of taphole clay. It is used to close the blast furnace doors. It was necessary to deliver cargo from Nesle (France) to Lipetsk (Russia).

Initially, we planned to deliver the cargo to the station of the recipient. However there was no customs warehouse there and it was not possible to carry out customs inspection. Due to the well-coordinated work of TRASKO specialists and customs brokers, we found a suitable railway station and took up the execution of the order. The company’s branches in Ufa, the sales department and the multimodal department, as well as the St. Petersburg project rail transportation division and the FEA department in Tver jointly participated in the organization of transportation.

Three 20-ton trucks were loaded on September 1 in France and moved to the Semyanivka railway station in Poland. The trucks arrived at the station on September 5. On the same day the cargo was relocated to the railway carrier arrived from the Republic of Belarus. The main feature of the European railroad is that it differs from Belarus and the Russian railroads. However several kilometers of our type of railroad enters the territory of Poland, which allows us to cross the border using our type of railway transport. The sender has prepared an export declaration and on September 7 our carrier crossed the railway border of the Republic of Belarus.

We arrived at Lubertsy-1 railway station (Moscow region, Russia) on September 15. Customs clearance was carried out at the station by TRASKO brokers, and the next day the customs office released the cargo. It was reloaded into three 20-ton trucks and continued its journey to the delivery point in Lipetsk and arrived there in accordance with the agreed terms. Overall in just 20 days, which is very fast for multimodal delivery, we carried out transportation by changing two modes of transport, road and rail ones, covered a distance of about 3,850 km and delivered the cargo to the customer.

TRASKO has been successfully solving logistics tasks in the interests of the business for over 27 years. We offer transportation by all means of transport, and we are always looking for solutions for customers that will allow to deliver their goods as efficiently as possible, taking into account customers wishes requirements and at an optimal price.
