Cheese is a well-known product made of milk with the use of fermented bacteria. This is is a great source of calcium and protein. It has gained popularity both as an independent dish and as an ingredient in many cuisines of the world. There are more than 2,000 varieties of cheese on the planet, which are made from different components and with a help of different methods.
We delivered samples of Cheddar to another continent, to the United States. Overall, TRASKO air transportation department delivered 734 kg of the product within the project.
Such transportation requires maintaining the necessary temperature and sealing, so all the cheese samples were packed in 14 thermal bags and loaded on 2 pallets with dimensions of 130×80×140 cm and wrapped with stretch film. It was necessary to deliver the cargo in 6 days because thermal bags were charged for this period.
The route started with a departure from Sheremetyevo Airport (Moscow). Then the aircraft landed in Amsterdam for reloading. After that the aircraft performed a flight to Chicago (Illinois, USA), and then the cargo was delivered to Kentwood (Michigan, USA) by a truck. In addition to direct air transportation itself, TRASKO and its agency network provided cargo support at the airports on the route, as well as performed truck delivery through the United States.
The cargo from the owner arrived on March 23 and TRASKO placed it on the warehouse at the airport. After receiving the export declaration and the veterinary certificate for export, on the next day the cheese samples flew away by the aircraft. On March 25, the pallets arrived at the airport of Chicago. After passing through the customs clearance procedure and issuing of the Food and Drug Administration certificate, the cargo was taken away by the truck and delivered to its final destination in Kentwood according to the agreed terms. The overall distance was about 8,300 km.
